Colson Patisserie’s rugelach are delightful little crescents of flaky pastry dough made with cream cheese and rolled with nuts, sugar, and apricot jam. Resembling a small, dense, croissant, rugelach originated in Hungary, gained popularity in Europe, and were adapted in America. The term ‘rugalech’ comes from the Yiddish word ‘rugel’ meaning ‘royal,’ which appropriately describes the carefully rolled pastry that reveals sweet, rich flavors between its layers of cream cheese dough.
